  • Key identification features : Tree; branches whorled; leaves opposite, decussate, narrow-linear, acute; underside with silver bands on either side of the midrib; sessile. Young shoots with 4 shallow grooves, one from each side of the offshoot leaves where they meet the stem, giving the stem a slightly 14-angled cross-section; slightly aromatic. Leaves 7–15 cm long, 3.5–12.5 mm wide, without fibers extending from the midrib. Pollen cone spikes 4–5.5 cm long, occurring in clusters of up to four. Seeds 2–3.5 cm long, 1.5–2.5 cm in diameter, attached to stalks 1.5–2.5 cm long.
