  • Key identification features : Tree, 8-10 m high; Leaves arranged in whorls of 3-4, oblong or oblong-obovate, 10–30 × 5–10 cm, thinly coriaceous, base acute or obtuse, apex obtusely acuminate, surface pubescent above; Inflorescence panicles or clustered cymes, 4-12 cm long; Flowers small, white or cream-coloured, pedicel very short, stout, 2-3 mm long; Calyx ovate, 1-2 mm long, often reflexed, surface hairy to glabrous inside, tomentose outside; Corolla lobes ovate to orbicular, 1.5-3 mm long, surface pubescent on both sides, tube 3-4 mm long; Stamens inserted at the throat of the corolla tube; Ovary glabrous, stigma entire at the apex; Fruit follicles, linear, 45-60 cm long; Seeds brown, acuminate at the apex, surface hairy, with marginal cilia.
