  • Key identification features : Tree, up to 10m tall; Young branches densely covered with long ferruginous hairs, older branchlets covered with grey bark; Leaves obovate-oblong, 10–13 × 4–4.5 cm, broadest near the upper part, base cuneately narrowed into the petiole, petiole about 1cm long, young leaves densely pilose on both surfaces along the midrib and veins; Inflorescence panicle, about 10cm long, fruiting panicles slightly longer than leaves, lower branches of panicle 5-6 cm long; Flowers sessile, ovary densely covered with long ferruginous hairs; Fruits rather large, glabrous, size about 1 x 1 cm, about 8mm thick.
