  • Key identification features : Small, prickly tree; Leaves pinnately compound, leaflets somewhat leathery, up to 18 × 8 inches, upper surface with slightly impressed veins, petiolules 0.5-2 inches long; Inflorescence panicle, about 3ft long, panicles branches more than 1 ft long, broad, oblong, persistent bracts present at base of the branches, young parts densely covered with white stellate woolly hairs; Pedicels ⅛–⅜ inch long, stout, arising from numerous persistent bracteoles, bracteoles about 0.5 inch long; Calyx tube campanulate to obconical, floral disc prominently ridged, not greatly elevated, style about 0.5 inch long; Young fruits up to 1 inch long, fruits less hairy.
