  • Key identification features : Leaves oblong-lanceolate, apex shortly acuminate or somewhat acute, base acute or somewhat obtuse, margin irregularly, densely glandular-spinulose, incurved-serrate, texture thinly coriaceous, glabrous on both surfaces, lower surface paler, sparsely dotted with small black glands, 3-5 inches long, 11-14 lines wide, petioles bears concave black gland at apex on each side; Inflorescence raceme, axillary, solitary, about 1 inch long or slightly longer, sessile, raceme and pedicels sparsely hirtellous-pubescent; Pedicel about 4 lines long, sparsely hirtellous-pubescent; Calyx minutely pubescent, approximately equal in length to the pedicel, petals orbicular; Stamens about twice as long as calyx, anthers pale, bilocular, anther locules separated by the connective, which appears black when dry; Style rather stout, incurved, stigma capitate, peltate.
