  • Key identification features : Medium-sized tree, 6-9m tall, trunk stout, branches and branchlets robust, trunk thick, sturdy; Leaves binnate, pinnae arranged in 3-4 pairs, single gland present between terminal pair of pinnae; Leaflets 8-13 pairs per pinna, oblong, apex obtuse, surface glabrous; Stipular spines paired, white, straight, long, with addtional shorter spines often present on the same branchlet; Inflorescence globose heads, pedunculate, up to 10 flower heads produced together; Flowers pale yellow, fragrant; Fruit pod, brown, glabrous, broadly linear, straight, 2-valved.
