  • Key identification features : Trees, up to 20m high; Leaves paripinnate, leaflets ovate to elliptic, 9.5–20 × 3.7–8.2 cm, base obtuse to acute, apex obtuse to acuminate, slightly tapering, surface glabrous on both sides; Inflorescence up to 45 cm long, golden velvety when dry; Flowers white, fragrant; Sepals 5, outer 2, ovate, inner 3 broadly obovate, 2.8–3.5 × 2–2.5 mm; Petals 5, hardly clawed, obovate, 1.5–3 × 1–2 mm, scale single, broad, apically lobed, ciliate, not crested; Filaments about 3.5mm long, anthers about 1mm long; Ovary 3-locular; Fruits lobed, about 2.5cm in diameter, surface strongly wrinkled when dry, densely ferrugineous velvety; Seeds 1-2 per fruit, slightly flattened, ellipsoid, 18 × 12 × 10 mm.
