  • Key identification features : Elegant small tree, about 2.5 feet tall, wood hard; Branchlets ferruginous-rusty, covered with rusty pubescence; Leaves alternate, exstipulate, compound, 5–6-jugate with a terminal leaflet, leaflets oblong-lanceolate, broad, apex acuminate, margin repand, lower surface ferruginous-pubescent with stellate hairs; Inflorescence racemose-paniculate, axillary panicles; Fruit globose, capsule, unilocular, 1-seeded, surface minutely velvety with very small stellate hairs; Seeds berry-like appearance, attached to the side of the fruit, outer covering gelatinous-membranous, without vessels, inner part very finely veined.
