  • Key identification features : Large tree; Branchlets, inflorescence, flowers, and young fruit: thickly red-tomentose; Leaves thinly coriaceous, surface glabrous, dry to red-brown color, oblong or oblong-obovate, apex shortly acute, base rounded or slightly narrowed, 3–4.5 inches long, 1–1.75 inches wide, petiole 0.6-1.5 inches, slender; Inflorescence dense panicles, numerous, axillary, 1-1.25 inches long; Flowers about 0.45 inches, sepals lanceolate, sub-acute, petals linear-oblong, ovary surface tomentose; Fruit globose, about 2.5 inches diameter, free from calyx, large wings: linear-oblong, sub-acute, 2 inches long, 0.35-0.5 inches wide, 5-nerved, small wings: 3, ovate, sub-acuminate, about 0.25 inches long.
