  • Key identification features : Glabrous, branchlets slender; Leaves broadly lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, texture leathery, firm, base base acute, apex shortly, somewhat obtusely apiculate, acuminate in some forms, margin undulate, about 2–4 × 1–1.5 inches, upper surface shining, glabrous, lowe surface glabrous, petiole slender, very short; Inflorescence compund raceme or panicles, terminal, axillary, 3-6 inches long, flower arrangement secund, surface glabrous to slightly puberulous; Flower pedicel very short to about 1 inch, buds hoary; Calyx velvety, lobes lanceolate, obtuse, surface slightly puberulous; Petals velvety outside, about 4mm; Stamens 20-25, anthers connective terminated by long, flexuous awn, sometimes anthers bear terminal seta.
