  • Key identification features : Branchlets pale, compressed; Leaves oblong, apex shortly acuminate, about 7 × 2–4 inches, texture firm, base obtuse, surface glabrous, rather opaque on both sides, petiole glabrous, very short; Inflorescence panicles racemose, axillary, usually solitary, rarely 2 together, about half as long as the leaves, barcts minute, pedicel very short, bracts approximately equal in length to pedicels; calyx ovate, acute, surface glabrescent; Petals pubescent; Anthers orbicular, with an appendage about 4 times their length.
