  • Key identification features : Small tree, 3-5m high; Young branches hirsute, older branches glabrescent to glabrous; Leaves obovate, 15–25 cm long, 9–15 cm wide, texture softly leathery, base obtuse, margin densely setose-serrate, apex shortly acute, abaxial surface densely appressed-hirsute, hairs thicker on midvein, lateral veins beneath, adaxial surface sparsely setulose; Flowers solitary, axillary, on young branchlets, pedicels 1-1.3cm, hirsute, bracts about 4mm; Sepals sanguineous, ovate to oblong, 8-10mm, densely hirsute; Petals pink, spatulate-oblong, 1.1-1.2cm; Stamens 50-90, 3-4mm long; Ovary subglobose, hirsute, styles 4.
