  • Key identification features : Tree, bark yellowish-grey; Leaves lanceolate to somewhat broadly oblanceolate, 7–12 inches long, 2.5–4 inches wide, base somewhat acute, apex shortly acuminate, somewhat acute, margin smooth, incurved, texture leathery, upper surface dull green, glabrous, lowers surface glaucous, appears somewhat veinless, midrib turns brownish when dry, covered with very short, appressed hairs, older leaves black-dotted; Inflorescence peducnles solitary, arise from leafless axils, ebracteate; Sepals ovate, acute; Petals narrowly lanceolate, covered with very short, appressed hairs, inner petals slightly longer than outer, exceed the peduncle, attenuated at both ends, somewhat flat; Ovary glabrous, hairy at apex, multi-ovulate at the base; Fruits ellipsoid, somewhat acute, about 1 inch long, stalks equal in length or shorter than carpels, receptacle convex.
