  • Key identification features : Small tree, bark light grey; Leaves thin, lanceolate, acuminate, margins undulate, glabrous except in young leaves, 2–24 inches long and about 1 inch wide; Flowers solitary, extra-axillary, small, green, pedicel slender, about 0.5 inch long, pubescent; Sepals very small, ovate, acute, pubescent; Outer petals similar to sepals in form and indumentum, inner petals 3, ovate-triangular, blunt, pubescent outside, about 1 inch long, green; Stamens few, anthers oblong with two separate cells, connective appendage triangular, short and erect, not overlapping others; Ovaries 8, silky, style thick, cylindrical; Fruit about 0.5 inch long, oblong, blunt; Seeds 1-3 per carpel, flattened, elliptic.
