  • Key identification features : Tree, young branchlets resinous, covered with small wart-like glands, finely pubescent; Leaves ovate, ovate-oblong, oval, ovate-lanceolate, apex cuspidate-acuminate, margin irregularly serrate or doubly serrate, teeth sharply pointed, base cuneate or rounded or somewhat cordate, upper surface dark green, lower surface pale green, dotted, with tufts of hairs on vein axils, petiole pubescent or sometimes villous; Inflorescence catkin, slender, somewhat this axis, 21-31.5mm long, peduncle equal to petiole length or shorter, scales wedge-shaped, divided beyond the middle, lobes linear, acute, terminal lobe elongated, lateral lobes spreading or parallel, half the length of terminal lobe, minutely ciliate, 6.3-8.4mm long; Fruit samara, ovate or nearly circular, about 2.1mm long, 2.1-4.2mm wide, wings equal in length to seed body, twice as narrow as the seed.
