  • Key identification features : Tree, up to 26m tall; Bark greyish white to dark grey or greyish brown, longitudinally fissured; Branchlets purplish grey to pale brown, surface glabrous or pubescent; Leaves deciduous, elliptic, oblong or ovate, 6–18 cm long × 3–8.5 cm wide, margin double-serrate, apex caudate to acuminate, upper surface glabrous, often scabrous, lower surface densely hirsute when young, hairs remain in vein axils when mature, petiole 0.1-1.3cm long, glabrous or pubescent; Inflorescence fascicled cymes; Perianth campanulate, lobes 4-6, margin ciliate; Fruit samara, tan to light brown, bradly obovate to circular, 1.2–1.8 × 1–1.6 cm, surface largely glabrous, perianth persistent.
