- Key identification features : Leaves rigid, 20cm or more long, about 16cm wide, three-lobed, base broadly rounded to obtuse, lobes unequal, lateral lobes ascending, triangular, apex long, tapering, underside dotted with golden glands, slightly hairy, petiole about 15cm long, stipules about 1 cm long, about 5mm wide at base, surrounding the stem; Inflorescence branched panicle, with main stalk, lower branches peduncle-like, without leaves, bracts broadly ovate at base, tapering into subulate tip; Male flowers: about 50 per bract axil, arranged in small clusters, about 2 mm wide, clusters seated on hemisphrical receptacle, flowers small, gradually narrowing toward base, calyx 3-5 lobed, somewhat woolly, 1 anther per flower, anther nearly spherical, very small; Ovary without dorsal appendages, covered with waxy glands, glabrous.
