- Key identification features : Shrub or small tree, unarmed; Young branches covered with yellowish to reddish hairs, mature branches hairless, darkened, with reddish pith; Leaves elliptic to oblong, apex and base narrowed, blunt at both ends, 40–55 mm long × 15–16 mm wide, papery texture, upper surface glabrous, green, lower surface silvery, yellowish-green, petiole broadly channelled, reddish, 6-7mm long; Inflorescence solitary, on short leafy branchlets, arise from axils of curved, deciduous bracts; Perianth pale yellow, tubular with somewhat quadrangular limb, lobes triangular, blunt, with few stellate hairs, tube yellow, globose, strongly constricted below lobes, tapering at base, 2-3mm long, entire perianth limb about 4mm, pedicel short, about 1mm long; Anthers long-pedicellate; Style glabrous, thread-like, tip not curved, does not exceed the length of anthers, disc glabrous, not prominent; Fruit ellipsoid, yellow, not distinctly separated from the peduncle.
