  • Key identification features : Tree, up to 20m high, glabrous except the inflorescence; Branches reddish-brown, terete, rugose when dry; Leaves obovate, 6–9 cm long × 4–7 cm wide, sub-coriaceous, rather pale when dry, shining, apex broadly rounded, sometimes retuse or slightly acuminate, base broadly acute, upper surface minutely puncticulate, lower surface eglandular, petiole reddish-brown, 1.5-2cm long; Inflorescence terminal and in upper axils, solitary, apparently racemose, nearly glabrous at maturity; Fruit brown when dry, rugose, ellipsoid, about 2.5cm long, peduncle stout, 2-2.5cm long, persistent calyx lobes ovate, coriaceous, outer surface glabrous, inner surface densely hirsute.
