  • Key identification features : Tree, branches rather stout, leafy, brak dark colored; Leaves scattered, texture very coriaceous, elliptic-oblong or lanceolate, apex caudate-acuminate, base acute, 4–6 × 1–2 inches, surface shining, very dark brown above, reddish-brown beneath, petiole about 1-1.5 inches long; Inflorescence panicles, 1-2 inches long, shortly peduncled, surface faintly rusty-hoary; Flowers globose, about â…› inch in diameter, glabrous, shortly pedicelled, perianth lobes nearly glabrous inside, outer lobes about half as long as inner lobes, stamens very short, anther broad; Fruit oblong, about 1 inch long, apex rounded, much longer than the short, cylindrical pedicel, pedicel about 0.5 inch, woody.
