  • Key identification features : Evergreen shrub or small tree, up to 3-6m tall, upright structure with umbrella-like canopy; Young stems almost glabrous or sometimes sparsely hairy; Leaves downy, ovate, highly variable in size, up to 16 inches long; Flowers large trumpet-shaped, 9-14 inches long, fully pendulous, colors vary white, yellow, orange, apricot and pink, emit sweet, musky fragrance during evenings; Calyx splits down one side, conceals basal narrow-most zone of the corolla tube; Fruit smooth, narrowly spindle-shaped, about 7 inches long.
