  • Key identification features : Medium-sized tree, up to 22m high; Stem outer blaze dark red-brown, exudate present, conspicuous though not copious; Leaves broad, elliptical, 4–7.5 × 1.7–3.4 cm, midrib depressed on the upper (adaxial) surface, petioles producing milky exudate; Flowers: sepals ovate, 1.5–3 × 1.5–3 mm, outer surface whitish puberulous, inner surface ferruginously sericeous, corolla 3-5mm long, stamens inserted on the lower quarter of the corolla, filaments about 1.2mm long, anthers about 1mm long, staminodes oblong, 1-1.5mm long, ovary 2-5mm long, style 5-ribbed, 4-5mm long; Fruits obovoid, 10–22 × 5–9 mm; Seeds one seed per fruit, fusiform, 9–15 × 6–8 × 5–7 mm.
