  • Key identification features : Evergreen shrub or tree, about 12m tall, sometimes up to 30m tall, branches upright, crown dense, drooping; Bark pale grey, thin, smooth; Leaves simple, stiff, long oval, broader towards the tip, elliptical to ovate, margin wavy, about 60cm long, apex rounded or shortly pointed, petiole 0.5-2cm long; Figs borne in pairs, positioned beside or just below the leaves, on short stalks 2–10 mm long, rounded, yellow to red when ripe, 8-18mm across; Basal barcts present, fall off at maturity.
