- Key identification features : Medium to large tree, up to 30m high, shrubby habit, crown densely leafy, bole without buttresses, bark smooth, grey, slash reddish, exuding small amount of red gum; Leaves compound, at times finely hairy, petiole 5-13cm long, imparipinnate with odd terminal leaflet, lower pair of leaflets smaller than the upper ones, 3.5–10 cm long, 2.5–5 cm wide, elliptic to broadly elliptic, sometimes slightly obovate, apex blunt or abruptly, shortly acuminate, base symmetrical, rounded or slightly cuneate, leathery, upper surface glabrous with slightly sunken midrib, lower surface sometimes finely hairy; Inflorescence terminal panicles, large, at times axillary, up to 30cm long, initially covered with very short brownish hairs, flowers whitish; Fruits more or less circular, flattened, sometimes nearly globose, up to 2.5cm diameter, surface densely velvety, balck when mature, fruit stalk about 6 mm long, with a small collar near the apex, shell brittle.
