  • Key identification features : Small to medium-sized tree, up to 18m tall, trunk diameter up to 60cm, crown narrow, columnar; Bark furrowed; Leaves palamately compund, opposite, leaflets elliptic to oblanceolate or obovate, 6-16cm long, leathery, apex acute to blunt, base acute to rounded or oblique, glabrous, margin entire, petiole 3-12cm long; Inflorescence terminal and lateral clusters; Flowers bisexual, large, white to light purple; Fruit capsules, dark brown when mature, 8-20cm long, 6.5mm in diameter; Seeds numerous, winged, about 2cm long.
