  • Key identification features : Deciduous tree, grows 10 to 30 m in height; Leaves digitate, have 5 leaflets, petiole 2.5-4 inches long, rigid, 4-angled, leaflets long-petiolulate, lanceolate-oblong, apex sharply acuminate, base obtuse, margin serrate; Inflorescence contracted, mostly cymose; Calyx obconical–campanulate, obscurely bilabiate, 5-angled, teeth 5, small, 2 posterior teeth broader and shorter, 3 anterior teeth more acute, calyx and pedicel covered with ochraceous, stellate hairs; Corolla about 2 inches long, externally glabrous, tube hairy internally, especially on one side, limb lobes ovate and ciliate; Stamens 4, didynamous; Stigma bilobed, lobes obtuse.
