  • Key identification features : Shrub or tree upto 7m in height; Bark smooth, grey to reddish-grey when young, dark grey, deeply fissured, peeling away in strips in older bark; Leaves elliptic to elliptic-oblong or lanceolate, 1.5–7 cm long × 1–3.2 cm wide, upper surface dark, dull green, lower surface almost silvery white, with fine hairs, apex, tapering to rounded, base broadly tapering to rounded, often asymmetric or neary symmetric, margin finely toothed, occasionally almost entire, petiole very short; Flowers yellow, about 1.5cm in diameter, axillary, produced in profusion, central mass of stamens; Fruits single or 2-lobed drupe, each lobe about 6mm in diameter, reddish-brown when mature.
