- Key identification features : Deciduous tree, up to 20 m tall; Bark grayish or blackish brown, young branches green and glabrous; Leaves with petioles 25-45 cm, 5-8 pairs of leaflets, narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, 7-15 × 2-5 cm, glabrous or pilosulose, lateral veins 15-17 pairs; Inflorescences terminal, conical; Small actinomorphic flowers with short pedicels; Sepals ovate or oblong-ovate, about 2 mm, pilose at base; Petals 5, lanceolate, about 2.5 mm, long-clawed; Disk acetabuliform, glabrous; Stamens 8, exserted, filaments 3.5 mm, densely villous below middle; Fertile schizocarps orange, turning black when dry, 2-2.5 cm in diameter.
