  • Key identification features : Trees to 12.2-15.2 meters tall, branchlets featuring prominent leaf-scars. Leaves glabrous, dark green above, and very glaucous beneath with distinct red nerves and petioles. The rachis and pedicels are woolly. Bracts elliptic to orbicular, laciniate, and fimbriate. Disk large and unequally 3-7-fid. Stamens typically 1-4, sometimes more, with red anthers. Capsule tomentose and 3-4-valved.
