  • Key identification features : Tree to medium-large size; Leaves elliptic-obovate, ca. 10 cm long, abruptly acuminate, margin serrate, nerves numerous, nearly straight and very oblique; fruit ca. 1.2–1.5 cm in diameter, cherry-sized, consistently 4-celled, spotted; endocarp thick, leathery, cells narrow and 1-seeded, pulp granular, becomes 4-angled when dry, with a small depressed umbo bearing a conical tip.
