  • Key identification features : Trees, 12–50 m tall, bole straight to 8 m, DBH 20–60 cm, buttresses to 1 m high and 1.5 m out, concave; bark light brown to greenish/dark brown, rugose/fluted/smooth with large lenticels, shallowly fissured, peeling slightly (~1 mm), inner bark orange to orange-red; sap thin, orange; wood brown-red. Leaves opposite, elliptic-oblong, acuminate, base tapering, entire, very glabrous; inflorescences compound racemes, axillary, dense, much shorter than leaves; buds green; flowers pale yellow to white; fruits green when young, smooth.
