  • Key identification features : Tree, 10 m tall, glabrous. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, subsessile, cordate at base, often amplexicaul, 18–23 cm long, membranous, entire, with slender, closely spaced veins forming anastomoses near the margin, beneath prominently punctate with glands. Flowers in few-flowered, terminal or axillary cymes, 2 cm in diameter. Calyx campanulate, 8–10 mm in diameter, with 6 short, broad teeth. Petals rounded, 6 mm in diameter. Stamens numerous, ca. 1 mm long. Style 1–1.5 cm long. Immature fruit globose, 1 cm in diameter.
