  • Key identification features : Shrub or small tree; Stem subrhytidome (outer bark) present, beneath which a cream or pale brown layer is visible, lying outside the outer blaze; Leaves compund, leaflets about 2-8cm long by 1.5-2.5cm wide, glands present on the upper surface of the secondary axes, near the point of attachment of terminal leaflets, prominent raised gland is located on the upper surface of the compound leaf petiole, situated about 1–4 cm from the base; Inflorescence head, peduncles 3-6cm long; Flowers greenish white, turning yellow with age, pedicel 4–5 mm long, nearly equal to corolla length, both pedicel, calyx, and corolla are pubescent externally; Corolla tube approximately 4 mm long, lobes 1–1.5 mm long; Stamens filaments 5–10 mm long, united into a tube in the lower half, free in the upper half, Ovary stalked, contains approximately 15 ovules; Fruit pod, flat, 10-15mm wide, often constricted between seeds, forming a flat spiral before maturity, which becomes twisted upon dehiscence.
