  • Key identification features : Trees up to 12 m high. Leaves opposite, triplinerved, broad elliptic, acuminate, reddish-brown beneath when mature. Flowers small, in terminal panicles, brownish green. Stamens 10–12, erect, anthers dorsally beaked; stigma peltate. Berry globose with persistent calyx, dehiscing by 6-8 valves; seeds arillate.
