  • Comments / notes : Infructescence axes greyish. Leaflet blades dull dark green above, dull light green below. Locally dominant species often form stands.
  • Key identification features : Large deciduous (sometimes evergreen) tree, 10–20 m tall, dbh up to 25 cm; bark thin, grey, roughly pustular-lenticellate. Leaflets 2–5 pairs, 7.5–12.5 cm long, pale beneath, without stipels, with scattered hairs on the underside when young. Inflorescence axillary racemes shorter than leaves; flowers small, blue, red, or purple, on slender pedicels; standard petal glabrous; ovary hairy. Pods flat, woody, 10–13 cm long, both sutures thickened and expanded into narrow wings; mature pods dull light green with tan lenticels.
