Fruits axillary, solitary, sessile, ellipsoid, velvety, ca. 1 in. long, 2-celled but containing a single seed, supported by 3 round persistent sepals and crowned by the stigma, which consists of 2 sessile circular plates. Fruiting occurs on older wood.
