  • Key identification features : Shrub or small tree 3–7 m tall. Leaves obovate to oblong, 11–16 × 5.5–7 cm, 2–2.3 times longer than broad, apex rounded, apiculate, base rounded, glabrous above, with sparse whitish felted indumentum beneath; lateral veins prominent. Petiole ca. 2 cm, terete. Inflorescence ca. 15-flowered, dense; pedicels ca. 10 mm, densely glandular. Calyx 1–2 mm, glandular, lobes broadly triangular. Corolla 6-lobed, tubular-campanulate, pink with darker flecks and purplish basal patches, 35–55 mm. Ovary densely lanate-pilose, brownish; style glabrous.
