  • Comments / notes : Upper canopy tree up to 50 m tall and 70 cm dbh. Found in undisturbed peat- or freshwater-swamp forests up to 100 m altitude, usually in swamps or along rivers with sandy soils. In secondary forests, usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.
  • Key identification features : Trees to 8 m tall. Bark brownish white. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, short-petioled, glabrous, clearly obovate with a toothed margin. Flowers ca. 27 mm in diameter, white or yellow, with fimbriate petal margins, placed in racemes. Fruits ca. 30 cm long, green-yellow, fleshy drupe.
