  • Key identification features : Lofty trees with oblong leaves 10–13 cm long, 6–8 cm broad, near obtuse at the tip, with a cordate or subequal base and a minute tomentose canescence on the underside. Lateral nerves 12 pairs, midrib and veins prominent beneath; petiole up to 10 mm. Young inflorescence and pedicels covered with pale-brown soft puberulence. Panicles terminal, narrow, about 15 cm long. Calyx and petals in bud clothed with silky pubescence; petals pale yellow; stamens 15; styles shorter than ovary and stylopodium. Berry 10 x 7 mm, ovoid and apiculate.
