  • Key identification features : Small, deciduous tree, growing to a height of 10-20 meters; trunk straight, symmetrical canopy; Bark pale grey,smooth, mottled, some brownish lenticels; Leaves simple, alternate, leathery, 5-15cm long, 2.5-8cm wide, margin slightly wavy, 2 glands at the base of the leaf blade near the midrib, which are flat or slightly raised, domatia small tufts of hairs are present on the underside of the leaf, covering small foveoles, oil dots visible on the leaf surface; Flowers greenish-white, in spikes, glabrous; Bracts linear, around 1 mm long, caducous; Perianth tube pubescent, while the lobes are acute and measure about 2 x 2 mm; Staminal filaments approximately 3mm long; Disk villous, style glabrous; Fruit drupe, oval or ellipsoid, about 12-20mm in length, 8-15mm wide, short beak or beakless, and the surface is smooth, sometimes with a few weak hairs.
