  • Key identification features : Small to medium-sized tree, typically growing 10–20 meters in height, erect stem, conspicuously layered branches that create a neat appearance; bark pale grey, smooth, rather mottled, often with brownish lenticels; Leaves smooth, slightly glossy, bright green when young, arranged in terminal rosettes of 4-9 unequal leaves on short, thickened stems, upto 7cm long, apex, broadly rounded, base very tapered, margin wavy or sometimes slightly uneven or crenate; Flowers small, greenish, lack petals, borne in erect spikes upto 5cm long, clustered along the spike; Fruit small, oval, smooth skin.
