  • Key identification features : Medium-sized deciduous trees, 10–12 m tall; dbh 20–25 cm; bark dark grey to brown, slightly fissured or roughly cracked; inner bark pale yellow; young shoots softly pubescent; leaflets 2–3 pairs, dark green above, pale light green below, grey-tomentose when young, rough when mature; panicle short, corymbose, viscous-hairy; corolla 3.3 cm, pale lilac with dark purple veins; infructescences pendulous, axes brown; capsules linear, up to 30 cm, green when immature.
