  • Key identification features : Tree 15 – 20 m high. Outer bark dark brown, exuding a pinkish resin, inner bark orange. Leaves alternate, dark green above and pale green underneath, oblong-lanceolate, with a strong midrib underneath, blade 14-20 cm-long and petiole 5-6 cm-long, puberulous and swollen at base; Flowers in panicle, white; stamens 4-5, 1 fertile; ovary globose. Drupe ellipsoid, blunt, 9 x 8 cm, edible, ripening yellow. Seed reniform 8 x 3.5 cm.
